Is the Travel Bucket List Dead, or Just Evolving?

The overtouristed places in Europe that travelers are starting to avoid, and the new destinations that are raking them in.

When the topic of European tourism comes up, everyone on all sides has a bone to pick these days. In mega-destinations like Rome, Venice, Paris, London, Amsterdam, Santorini, and of course Barcelona, locals are unhappy with the tourists, the tourists are unhappy with the crowds, and the governments are only starting to catch up to the problem. This past summer felt like a tipping point, and it does look like travelers are beginning to alter their behavior in order to avoid the worst of overtourism. Does this mean that the traditional bucket list could be fading away?
